Graduated

Reflections after completing an MSCS.
I graduated with an MSCS from Northeastern yesterday - the commencement at Fenway Park was a joy to experience, and I'm filled with gratitude looking back on everything it took to get here. I still remember starting the Align program in Fall 2022, wondering how recursion worked and if I would ever understand memory management (update: I would!).
During the course of the program, I contended with impostor syndrome constantly. Many of my classmates had been coding since childhood, while I had only seriously started a year or two earlier. Making the pivot to study computer science hasn’t been easy, but I know now it was the right path. I’ve learned how to think like an engineer — to problem-solve, debug, and build — and, just as importantly, to believe in my ability to quickly pick up new technologies.

Taking a second to soak in the moment after the ceremony.
The landscape of the industry has changed drastically since I began in 2022. I'm sure I’ll write more about that in the coming weeks. I don’t know exactly what’s next, but I’m hopeful. I’m ready to build, to learn, to contribute — and most importantly, to begin.
